Bisi bele bhath or Bisi Bele Huliyanna is a spicy, rice-based dish with origins in the state of Karnataka, India. It is said to have originated in the Mysore Palace and from there spread across the state of Karnataka.
Native Crop has replaced rice with Foxtail Millet and blended nutrition and taste to come out with this delightful and savoury ready to cook mix.
Foxtail Millet is rich in Vitamin B12 which is essential for maintaining a healthy heart, smooth functioning of the nervous system, and in general good for skin and hair growth. A diet including Foxtail Millet may improve glycemic control and reduce insulin, cholesterol and fasting glucose in Type-2 diabetes patients.
Ingredients: Fox Tail Millet, Red Gram dal (Tur dal), Ground nut seeds, Edible Vegetable Oil, Tamarind, Salt, Coriander seeds, Jaggery, Red Chillies, Dry Copra, Bengal gram dal, Black gram dal, Cumin, Turmeric, Mustard, Curry leaves, Cinnamon, Fenugreek, Cloves, Nutmeg, Mace.
Saute 200 g cut vegetable of your choice (like Carrot, Beans, Green peas, Potato, etc with 2tbsp of cooking oil in a small pressure cooker.
Add 3 ½ measure (700 ml) water, a pinch of salt and boil.
Add 200 g (the contents of the pack) Bisibelebhath mix and mix well.
Close the lid and pressure cook for 6-7 whistles till cooked.
Allow the pressure to release for 8 to 10 minutes.
Add 2 tsp of Ghee, mix well and serve hot with Potato chips, Boondhi or curd Raita.
